Time management is not spiritual: Another misconception we often hear is that time management is incompatible with a spiritual lifestyle or practice. However, managing time effectively can enhance one's spiritual business (and practice) and allow more time to be spent on meaningful activities and pursuits.
Time management is about working harder, not smarter: Some people may believe that time management is simply about working harder, putting in more hours, and pushing through exhaustion. However, effective time management is about working smarter, not harder, by prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and focusing on high-impact activities.
For almost ten years, all I did was work. I got anxious whenever I checked my emails, which caused me ongoing stress, and I used to feel like I had to do it all myself.
I constantly felt like I had hundreds of things to do and would often spend my days overcome with anxiety trying to figure out what to do next.
I ended up burning myself out because all I did was work and work and work. I didn’t have normal sleeping hours and rarely made time to rest and enjoy my life, PLUS I didn't know how to clear and cleanse my energy and I didn't have a consistent spiritual practice.
Working all the time stopped me from carving out time for self-care and healthy relationships.
I didn’t delegate enough tasks, and I didn’t prioritize my tasks properly.
I didn’t have a system that allowed me to schedule my week in advance, and I was trying to do everything all at once, all the time.
